Sendai and Kushiro Karate clubs are based in Wearside and County Durham, offering its members high quality tuition in Shotokan Karate. The clubs are amongst the longest established Shotokan clubs in the country and have had continuous affiliation to the Karate Union of Great Britain since their formation in 1967 and 1973 respectively.
Our cheif instructor, Sensei John James Bruce, 4th Dan, is a full time professional instructor with over twenty years experience, three World titles and four European titles. Assisting him we are very lucky to have such excellent instructors ranging from 1st Dan - 4th Dan Black Belts, all of whom have a full instructors qualification, CRB enhanced check and insurance. Our club offers its students the opportunity to begin, or continue in their karate training. Various aspects of karate will be covered including the syllabus towards belt promotion, along with self defence and competition skills.
